Hey Guys I have a VT 98 Commodore ,
Looked everywhere for info on this but haven't yet found anything.
I went to start my car yesterday morning and as soon as I turned the ignition on everything went dead (i.e. no electrical power whatsoever).
I assumed a fuse had blown so I popped the hood and checked a few fuses but nothing seemed brown or discoloured or smoking. So I put back the fuses I had taken out and suddenly noticed the interior light was on (the door was open) I quickly switched off anything that was drawing current then tried starting it... it worked, and didn't have any problems with it until thismorning..
Does this mean a circuit breaker had popped?
The same thing happend thismorning and I've tried almost everything I can think of to get it started but it remains dead, aside from calling someone, which will cost money :S.
Can anyone help?
Could also be the battery if it doesn't have enough charge?
is your total kms travelled still visible on your cluster? if so it may be your postive terminal is lose on your battery. the same thing happened to me a couple of times before my mate whose a mechanic suggested i re tighten my teriminal. grab your socket/spanner set out and just un do the postivie side and then push it down as far as it goes on the terminal and then re tighten it.
worked for me![]()
Yeah, get your battery checked if the terminals are tight & clean. These cars are really touchy when it comes to voltages.
I gave each terminal a clean and re-tightened the negitive terminal and she started like nothing was wrong with her hahah thanks guys!!
Chances are you bumped your terminal wire enough to give better contact when you were messing around in the fuse box. Good thing it was such an easy fix.
haha nice work!
