well that's the thing...i don't know if it's screwed on since it's got the material that covers the gear box and gear stick right up to the bottom of the nob if that makes sence.

so do you think you twist it off or just pull it off?

    lol.

    lol dang it!
well if you can find it that'll be awesome mate! one thing i dislike about the commodores is that things can be so hard to do unlike other cars or that you gotta buy things only suitable for commodores such as seat covers...mine cost $160 for the whole set -_-

if its like the VX, you just pull it and it will come off.
if its sitting loose, hit it down and it will seat properly.

In a manual V6 the knob can wiggle from side to side a little bit. Do this while pulling straight up and it will dislodge.
A good upgrade to the VT/X knob is the VY V6 manual knob. It feels nicer and more comfortable than the VT/X.
To put it back on is just to push it straight back down with some force in the correct alignment and it should "clip" back into place

I know that they feel fragile but rest assured if you have it in the right position it will go back into place with just the right amount of force.

The 6spd knobs just pull off, but they are damn tight because they have silcone sealant inside to reduce vibration. You undo the shifter and stick it in a vice and pull hard, wouldn't be surprised if the 5spd was the same.

Holden said it'll cost $40.15 for a new gear knob. Do you think i'd be best off getting one through some1 else to get a better price or would they be they be the best? NOT INCLUDING EBAY! there are none of ebay.
