Computer Light Flashing

Hey guys

I thought id change my keys over because my main key's button is getting a bit worn. When i put the spare one in and use it, the light on the trip computer etc. just flashes at me. The key works fine but I am wondering the what flashing is all about. The other key works fine too and doesnt flash. Does it mean the battery in the key is flat or something?

Yes this indicates there is a fault & the theft deterrent is not disarming
probably need a new key
