stupid question.....
but whats the best way to degrease the engine to get her looking fine?
i mean, what sort of things should i be covering etc?
I cover coil packs and fuse box sprayed a shitload of degreaser and hit with a gurney. just try to avoid spraying anything electrical with a gurney. Though 99% of the time it wont do anything but there's always a chance

but yeh smother the engine bay with a decent degreser let it sit for recomended time then blast it all way.....
make sure its a non corrosive degreaser.. and always use an aircompressor afterwards![]()
Not sure if using an air compressor afterwards is such a good idea. If you've done your best avoiding all the electrics with the gerni and you then blast the whole lot with an air compressor, you may well end up blasting water into the very parts you tried so hard to keep dry!

ok, ill do it my way and you can do it yours![]()
did this to my vs yesterday, I used some of that cheap 3in1 foaming degraser . I covered the coil pack with a bag and used 2 cans of degreaser on engine and surrounding areas......then waited about 1 minute then hit it with the hose and haven't had any trouble since i done it.....looks much better now lol
do you have to cover the injectors & sparkplugs or just the coil pack and fuses?
really up to you me i dont cover anything but then again i dont have the nozzle from the high pressure hose sitting close to the electrical gear, and as long as its let to dry completly.
dont go starting it or giving it power while still wet as this can cause a short ....
