does anyone know a good ball park figure for getting them changed out?
ive had a miriad of estimates all over the place
good question I need to get mine done as well. A slight leak.
Mate,
I went to repco and bought the rocker cover seals I think I got 2 for about $38( for VS ecotec) un-bolt the rocker cover and remove the old one and replace with the new one, do the bolts up again and bob's your uncle!!!
really that simple.
no need to drain anything or use gasket glue.
Get the seals urself. And do the replacement yourself. It's not as hard as you think. Have a gregories manual handy for any issues.
i did mine 2 days ago, really simple, cost me $15 each side for the gasket at coventrys, just undo the bolts pull the old seal off, give it a good clean around the edges, put the new seal on, put the rocker cover back on being sure the seal doesn't fall out, and bolt it up. no worries all fixed.
Sometimes it is a bolt tension issue, not a fault in the rubber gasket.
Before you spend the money on new gaskets, clean the area, remove the covers, remove gaskets from covers, clean clean clean, then bolt them back up to the correct torque settings. Monitor for leaks, if it does, then get new gaskets. If it doesn't, then who cares. lol
