    Default Distance to empty competition

Alright, lets see who can get the highest and lowest "Distance to empty" readings.

Leave some details about your car, and also if you have a bigger tank say so.

Mine VT V6, stock as a rock, stock tank.

Highest reading is 880km - Pic attached
Lowest is 5km (photographed, it did go lower but no proof ) - Will attach pic soon when comp plays nice.

Strictly pictures or it didnt happen

My highest ever reading is 940km to empty =) My ECU has been tuned for lean cruising, I have Wildcat extractors, with a 2.5" pipe. I also have a CAI. Oh yeah, the car is a 1993 VP Series II Calais with the standard 63L tank. Tyre pressures were 38PSI cold, and I had a car full of luggage and crap.

I got to 940km to empty doin 110kph on the Eyre Hwy, on the 90 mile straight.

My lowest ever reading was zero...I ran out at the bowser at Canberra airport servo, perfect timing I reckon ;D

I'll have pictures when I go back to Canberra in 5 weeks...wait out guys =P

He's got the stock tank too, nothing fancy. It's just tuned quite lean, and a rebuilt motor.

Everytime I fill up mine claims 1000km to empty but that is due to the wrong calibration in the ECU because of the supercharger.

Best I have actually done in 820km on one tank with probably about 10-20km. I have also done about 800km without the supercharger.

Car is a Manual 3.8 VX wagon with a raptor supercharger and extractors + exhaust.

I sat on 0 km to empty for about 5 mins once, was sh*tting my self that I was going to run out, I did run out, just as I was pulling into a servo, I rolled to the pumps! lol

The highest "Distance to Empty" reading I had was 960km on a standard stock VT Acclaim V6 running on Shell Premium Unleaded, doing an average of 100-110km/hr. The travel is a mix of flat, winding and hilly roads.

My car was never tuned, not modified, no CAI etc. Just the regular Holden servicing with Carbon Clean...whatever that is that costs about $600 a pop.

Here's a photo of my DTE showing 980 km, taken with mobile phone camera one night in Lane Cove Tunnel, and yeah, I know it's illegal. I took another one five minutes later showing 1030 and have had it showing 1050 once on the Pacific Highway as I headed through Hexham. Unfortunately, both photos were poor and not worth showing.

Takes a bit of squinting as it's not very clear.

Mines had 980 aswell. Not sure if the VN/P dashes have 4 digits or only 3. Never have my car on that menu now, always on the digi speedo readout.

This was on a trip from Sydney to Byron. I refilled at Ballina just to play it safe and I was shocked when I saw this! It really does prove how much the computer takes info off the previous tank in calculating it.

Car is a VXII with extractors and a cat-back exhaust.

Found a picture I thought was not clear enough to post. 1020km to empty.

Taken totally illegally with phone camers whilst driving through Lane Cove Tunnel, where speed limit is only 80kph and speed camera is installed. (Naturally, it IS NSW after all!)

Car is totally stock Ecotech auto. No fancy exhausts, no intake mods - just as it left the factory.

    Any takers?

wow, you guys are getting heaps more then me I was driving as economical as I possibly could, some hills, but a relativly flat trip, car not long had a major service.

Still 880km's is better then the VK which was doing no more then 220km's to a tank, thank god with some work its back up 450.

Does greenfoam do Ecotech tunes now?
