i wanna modify a vt/x bonnet

hey all i was thinking of modifying a vt/x bonnet for my wh purely for the drags and was wondering what people thought of my idea... now what i wanted to do as you can see in my picture is cut along the WHITE lines making sure the bonnet will still shut and lock down properly, then bend it up along the RED line and cut triangle pieces of steel to weld in along the orange lines to close it up on the sides...

as ive got an otrcai im hoping to have the intake sitting nicely into the gap as the standard wh bonnet still restricts quite some airflow...

any comments or other ideas feel free to share them

nah coz if i take the grille off the airflow is still interfeared with heaps... tried that, thanks for the reply but

they actualy make bonnets like that, looks wicked if u can do it urself do it lol places want ova 1200 without paintin

hey thanks gr3ga... not really the bonnet i was after, like wrx884 said with the wrx scoop it would look alot like one of those but alot closer to the front of the bonnet... i was just gunna paint it matte black so it dosnt rust, otherwise i wouldnt bother painting it at all

you would want to get the front rolled or folded so its not sharp.. even then i dont think it would be legal coz u could seriously injure a pedistrian if you hit them ripping their stomach open. if you have a spare bonnet give it a trial but i dont think it'll pass with the rta

I recon, done nicely, it would look nice. And very different as well.

Just out of interest, I guess your not allowed to have NO bonnet in drags? that would allow for some serious air intake and airflow through the engine

yeh i dont think you would be allowed to race without a bonnet... would be good airflow if u could but
