Hey guys,
Picked up my new WH This avo and went back to work
anyways we where outside on break about 9pm and we flicked her to ACC As the fuel pump was whirring there was a wierd sorta knocking noise from rear left of the car
Originally we thought fuel pump but it keeps going after the pump stops priming
then comes on again every 20-30 seconds...?
Any idea?
Sorta sounds like an air compressor or something
Thanks
Dan
Hmph investigated a bit more this morning ... seems the auto-level suspension is leaking air somewhere intermittently its very weird...
It Jacks up, then sits for 5-10 seconds then starts slowly hissing and then faster till it drops far enough for the compressor to kick in ..... any ideas anyone?
Check the hose connections at the shocks and compressor by putting soapy water on them, any leaks will show up as bubbles. You will need to drop the compressor a bit to gain access to the connection.
Take it back to where you bought it and get them to fix it. You should have some sort of warranty.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
Yeah intend to later todaythinking its something sensor related as it holds pressure while the car is off ... Tried pulling the relay but it still dumps just the one side just cant pump it back up again :\
thats weird hey, im glad i dont have that air shock stuff in the rear
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
seems to be a leaking air bag/shock or whatever pumps up ... booked in for friday morning to get it sorted , now just gotta hope this 40deg weather doesnt kill the compressor first![]()
Dodgy shocker according to holden .... goes back tuesday to be fixed![]()
Mine has been making a wired noise lately as well. I can hear it mainly when the car is decelerating or when I am driving slowly at about no more than 40k’s. I would describe the noise like someone is huffing and puffing. The noise is coming from the left rear. Any ideas what this could be?
Cheers
Could be your auto-level compressor such as mine .. turn your car to ACC and stand outside for a bit, should hear the compressor kick in if somethings dodgy and its constantly pumping up. also listen for hissing from the rear when car is turned off, could indicate a leak
I tried that, I can only hear it when the car is moving. Very strange.
Cheers
i have no idea how WH handbrakes work but i know in my vn i used to get a wierd noise from the right rear 'cause the handbrake boots stuck out too far?
It probably actually could be something to do with the hand brake. I have had nothing but trouble with my brakes since Holden changed them. I have had the car back and forth from Holden’s and still more problems.
Cheers
