Hi
I just bought a VU ute and year of manufacture is oct/2001 how do I tell if it is a VUI or VUII and whether it is a genuine s pac or not as all badging is removed. Another thing is it is a 5 speed manual and seems low geared doing 26000rpm at 110k/m I would like it to rev a bit less than it is as i do a lot of freeway driving, any suggestions would be much appreciated and how do I find what final drive ratio it currently has?
Cheers
Wayne
With the 5 speed manual, all of them are like that.
I have found with highway driving that you get good mileage per tank even though its revving high.
Normally the compliance plate will tell you what model it is. There is a link that deciphers all the codes somewhere on the site
