Default aic conditioning hot/cold switch broken.

    hey folks

when removing the dash im guessing the aircondition controlls have to be disconnected ?

well i tryed to squeeze it through and i snapped the hot/cold switch.

how do i put a new one on ? how far onto the thread must it go ?

CAN IT BE REPLACED WITH THE DASH IN PLACE ?? OR MUST IT BE REPALCED WITH THE DASH OUT..??

    THANKS!!

What part of the hot/cold switch did you snap? The part near the control unit or the shaft that goes into the airbox. It may be cheapest to get a replacement unit off ebay or your local wrecker.

hmm im not sure wat u did here lol but the metal rod sits in bout 5-6 threads back in that lil white plastic clip.

u'll need 2 take off the dash surround 2 get the heater control unit out.

what do you mean by dash surround ?

i have broken the little black part that connects the metal rod to the switch.

so im guessing a whole new unit will need to be fitted...

does the dash need to come out ? by this i mean does the entire dash ? like the paqrt where your dash cluster mounts and all ?

The dash surround is the part that the Mode, hazzard and headlight switches clips into. Only that, The console surround that goes around the Gear stick and the lil flap compartment above the 12V outlet needs 2 b removed, oh and ur head unit. Have a search as 2 how 2 get this out theres plenty of threads covering it.

U can actually exchange the black cog that uve broken provided it has the lil white clip that the metal rod clips into still in tack. Tho it would b just as easy 2 buy a whole new unit they would b only $40 on ebay man, just swap ur unit surround, button and dials over if u buy 1 thats scratched up.
