hey guys,
i took my stock standard VT s pack 98 down the drags last night and my best time was 16.71.
just wanted to know if this is around about and average time for these types fo cars???
let me know wat other times have people gotten...
Friend of mine runs 10.1 on the 1/8th mile to compare you will have to look at the 660 foot mark on yout time slip, but I would say his time would be a fair but quicker
my 660' was 10.41 second. so yer bit quicker than mine.
was his car stock?
ohh and by the way, wat are some things that i could do on the day to make it any quicker? does things like spare wheel, tyre pressure, air filter seem to make any differance.
mine was running 17.1 stock after tune service a few g's behind the engine its only pullin 14 flat for a PB i think mines brokended
On the look out for my new VT 98
KnN Air filter, Iridium spark plugs and premium petrol apparently will give you a little more power also make sure you have your tyres at the right PSI, remove your spare tyre, anything that puts weight on your car

Yeah his is stock, 10.41 should end up faster than 16.7, should be more like 16.3/16.2 how come your loosing so much on the top end?. 10.1 should run a fairly easy 15. Like 15.7 or 15.8. Spare tyre can be worth nearly .1 on slower cars. Air filters can cost you half a tenth if they are dodgy ones etc. You should run the most tyre pressure you can and still get full traction. Also check you brakes for drag. Have all your wheel bearing adjusted just right etc etc. All those little things add up, that's how I get mine to run good times just lots and lots of little things being right
i just took my stock vt. all i've done is high flow filter and striped out the boot, i only ran once and think i could have got better but i got a 16.6
16.7 isnt to bad depending on km's it has and weight. when they came out new they only did 16.3-16.5 and 0-100 in 8.8 so thats not too bad. also mine used to have less power when it was hot outside, them seem to suffer from heatsoak really bad

another thing i did was seal up the air box, like where the cai goes into the corner of the box, it was all loose and allowed air to get in the gaps. yer mine feels 100% quicker on a cold night, it quite amazing how much quicker it feels...too bad my run at willobank the temp was in the mid 20's![]()
i go to the strip with my peterol meter saying 60kms till empty, take the filter out of my otrcai, strip out the boot and run 25psi in the rear with 215/15/s... also if your running mags on the front they are heavier so swap them with stockies too...
after that i still run an ok time for such a heavy car...
