    Default Interesting vx problem

I have a 2001 vx, dual fuel stock engine and gearbox problem is this. When driving after about 5 to 10 minutes the engine light will come as it does I notice a slight change in engine tune and also the auto shift points change it revs to about 3000 rpm before it changes into each gear. Stop the car switch the engine off then restart all is perfect for another 5 to 10 minutes then it does the same again, has anyone come across a senario like this.

    regards

    keith

Found the problem occassionaly my car backfires when running on gas one day it backfired three times in a row and this caused the air cleaner element to almost be sucked up into the pipe that goes from airbox to throttle body put new filter on now no problem. also fixed backfiring problem changed to better quality plugs and leads.

Good job. Gas can be a tricky one to get right. I'm glad it was something reasonably simple and that you found it before it did any real damage.
