Clutch Gone VX S V6 ecotec 2002 SII What to get

Hi,

I have to get my car fixed in Darwin NT.

Anyone recommend any particular companies to do it?

I am new in Darwin and not sure who is good.

Also I have never had to replace a clutch so far, so what sort of clutch should I put in it?

I am quite hard on my clutch, occasional burnouts. This one lasted 135000kms.. Is a heavy duty clutch recommended over a standard one?

What sort of money are we talking for a standard one installed, compared to a heavy duty aftermarket one? Which brand/ type should I get.

I know nothing about clutches unfortunately.

I'll be going down the same path as you shortly with my vy v6.From what I have found out so far Exceedy do a heavy duty single mass clutch kit that replaces the std dual mass that Holden fitted.I priced 1 a while back I think it was about $1600 plus fitting, but hold me to that it was a while ago.

But talk to gslrallysport... they do a money competative price on that item i think OR there is a ebay seller eBay Australia Shop - NORTHERN BRAKE AND CLUTCH: EXEDY PERFORMANCE CLUTCH KITS, EXEDY SAFARI TUFF CLUTCH, EBC DISC PADS that do a good price on them too.

I remember when i got mine it ended up being 1000 including shipping so shop around.

There seems to be a big variation on what Exedy charges depending on where you are in the country. The best we could do would be $1225 shipped to you. Shop around, and also play dumb and see what your mechanic would charge for the clutch. The part number you want is GMK-7353FWHD.

I got a Raptor supercharger and a few other bits and pieces on my ute as well,will that clutch handle the extra power/torque or is there something a bit more heavy duty?I'm off to the drags with it in the next couple of weeks so you'll probly be hearing from me not long after!!!!
