    Default Cracking cylinder heads

Has anyone heard of cylinder heads cracking or head bolts breaking cause of exhaust system bottoming out on speed bumps or sharp crests? Or is there enough give in the exhaust system flex that it would bottom out on the chassis of the vehicle before causing damage to the extractors or heads? Cheers

Haven't heard that one before. I would think it more likely that the exhaust manifold would crack first but anything is possible. How hard did you hit it?

you'd have more chance of shattering the bell housing then pulling head studs.

to be honest your exhaust will fold and the body would impact on a speed hump, but no head damage,
    exaust pipes arnt that strong.

Cheers for replies. Yeah i had a full load in my car and went over a crest of a driveway and it bottomed out worse than normal. Usually just a little tap but this was a full long scrapping.
