weird smell without a/c on

without my a/c on, ive got a weird smell coming out the air vents,
car is a vt belina so it has climate control?
i have no idea whats going on??

Could be the heater core leaking. Will also cause water in your footwell(s), badly fog up your windscreen, and possibly white steam from the vents when using the air con on anything less than fully cold (climate control does that nearly 100% of the time on auto).

put the a/c on recirc, if it dosent smell anymore i'd be tipping that something(cat/possom) ****ed into your fresh air duct :P

also, open ur radiator cap and have a waft of that, if it smells similar it would be ur heater core leaking...

if all else fails, spray some of those a/c cleaner cans down all ur vents... might just be mould built up

I sometimes get a weird smell also, just after I turn the aircon off..

Kinda smells like rotton eggs. I dont think my heater core is leaking though as i dont get wet carpet or steam ect...

the Air con gas has a foul smell,usualy the first sign of a leak take it to an aircon place with an electronic sniffer & get it checked

yeah mine has a dusty type of smell when the fan is on

Sounds like the old A/C mouldy smell, I would go with the spray cleaner

our ac smelt bad. like an old dog living under a house. we sprayed lavender down the vents. took most of it away. i think it was just old dust
