gday people.. i own a vt exec and im sick of winding up my windows, lol.
im wondering if it is worth it to buy all the parts from a wreck eg vt calais, and get a mechanic to put them all in...
im guessing i will need all 4 switches for the doors, the main switches for the center console part, all 4 door motors and regulators and all necissary looms needed.
is this the right way to go about things? has anyone done it before?
could me and a mate do it ourselfs? or is there special tools needed?
ill probably dump the stuff at a mechanics though, anyone know a reasonable price if i already have the door trims off and the dash facia off? i'd imagine it's be less expensive if i went to the effort of removing everything.
cheers dudes
ive scoped out ebay and found a 'complete' kit for 170, decent price i think, hope it includes everything i need, and all switches. ive sent him a question he hasnt replied yet though.

Hey mate, i just did the conversion in my VT and it was a real simple task. All up taking my time it took me 2 weekends, but if there are 2 of you doing it you could get it done in a day. What series is your VT, this will matter for the wiring harness for the doors. Series I has differeent pin connections. But Series II onwards are the same. Also have a look to see if there is the plug for the centre console swithc. If there is it will be a lot easier. Any questions mate just PM me![]()
Would be a good idea to buy the whole door cards man.
When you remove the manual handle ur gunna have a little hole there and ur also gunna have to cut new holes for the switches otherwise.
That way its nice and clean when you replace the whole lot
