    Default LN3 or L36?

I have a 2002 model VX V6, On the engine plate it states the motor is an LN3, and yet according to Wikipedia, the VX has an L36, anyone know which it would be, and why (if it's an L36) the engine plate does not reflect the type of motor installed...

the LN3 and L36 are american used abbreviations for the commodore motors.

yours is essentially the L36, but it runs a different manifold and other items. the blocks are the same.

the easiest way to show it is:

    VN s1 = LN3
    VN s2-VR = L27
    VS ecotec -VY = L36

but in reality, the american motors are laid out differently being mostly FWD configuration.
