Auto starting in every gear. Tips please

Just bought a cheap VT a while back and it starts in every gear. Also while drivin in 4th, every now and then it will kick back to 3rd on its own and wont go back to 4th till I turn off then on again. Happens from 2 to 10 times a week. I was told it was the inhibitor switch/start,neutral switch. Bought a new one, put it in, and it hasn't changed a thing. Any tips or ideas would be great! Thanks, stak

Time to take it to a reputable auto trans repairer.

my mate had that problem wouldnt go into fourth at all and he had to use it like a manual all the lights were playing up on his dash to, we worked out that it was just a bad earth also try checking out the link on the bottom of this page (starting in second)
