hey
yesterday i was drivin home ( lots of lights stopping and starting)
when my commodore decided to make a exploding noise and just cut out i'm not sure if it came from the gas tank or if it was backfiring (it happend three times)
its happend twice before yesterday but my mechanic had said that it was normal for it 2 do this on hot days ...
a) it wasn't particularily hot yesterday in sydney
b) is my mechanic correct and am i just overworring
thanks
James
Get the gas system check to be sure.. But more then likely it was just some type of back fire. But check for your own safety at least once every 2 years.

Some hot days can cause backfire, but only small on startup, due to more chance of vapours, from gas and petrol. Apart from that, should not happen as Commsirac said.
