ok i took my 98 VT commodore to get a service, they guy told me that sometimes after they change the leads on sum holdens that it might run shit...
well 1 day after i got the car back i had that problem it runs like shit, it sounds like sumthing is skipping and losing power, shud i go and buy a new set of leads my self and change em (if it is the new leads) or take it to a proper holden mechanic?
cheers
I would take it back to where you got it done and tell them to fix it

Check to make sure the leads are on properly first, then take it back.
I would take the car back and his comment about the car running rough after changing leads is a load of #^*t

yea i thought it was a bit dodgy of him to say there was gona be a problem before he even started the service..
Well if his a good mechanic he should guarantee his work so approach him calmly and see what he has to say, GOOD LUCK I hope you get it sorted, but don't keep driving it the way it is you could do some damage.![]()
The trouble is that some mechanics don't take enough care when removing the leads, they just rip them off. This guy sounds like one of them.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
Its probably 1 faulty lead. Get the mechanic to check it and change it.
Yeah i had a dodgy lead haunt me for the past 6 months. Mechanic just ripped it off, never told me, it was loose, on freeway fine, when accelerating up a hill on LPG, backfire and now i need a new air box. This was 6 months or so ago. Since then i have repaired the lead, but not the same, Bosch lead, just broke where i re-clamped it. Got me stuck on Westgate bridge for 5 minutes trying to re attach. Now i need new leads. My fault cause i was too lazy, i usually do it all myself, but got the mechanic to do heaps of little things i didnt wanna do, Trans filter, rocker cover gaskets, diff oil etc. For all i know it could have been like that before. 329a.m, hot night in Melb, i am starting to blabber on now........but definately sound like leads, check on plugs and coil pack.....
