Default air cond - cuts on in hot weather

Just had my VXII air cond regassed
Works well except when it's been standing in very hot weather (45+)
    Just blows hot air
When the weather cools, it work fine
    Any ideas?

    Thanks

My home air con was recently cutting out over 40 degrees, had it regassed and now it's perfect. Although it isn't a car A/C it's the same principle. Maybe you have a leak.

Check to see if your electric fan is working when the air con is on. You could have a blown fuse, crook relay or crook fan motor which will let your air con gas overheat so the pressure rises to the point where the pressure switch turns off your compressor so parts of your air con system do not explode.

get the hose and blast the cr*p outa the condensor.. (radiator looking thing in front of the radiator)

if the refridgerant isnt cooling down properly it wont cool properly...

also is the compressor still running when its blowing hot air?

my van does that, but substitute 45 degrees with 30 degrees

it resulted in me driving down the highway with my head out the window because the vans shape results in f*ck all air getting through the cabin with the windows down.

afaik its probably blowing hot air because the entire air vent system (at least in the van) is made of black plastic so it actually blows hotter air than the stuff in the rest of the cabin.

Maybe when it was last regassed they put too much in? So on a hotter day the pressure goes up and the pressure switch shuts the compressor off?

    Wouldn't be the first time.
