    Default Loud pod

    Hey guys,

Got a pod on the VT just for hecktic induction lol and its doing its job... possibly too well?

It sucks in air like a mofo and is loud as all hell, sounds like a supercharger lol.

Got it with the adaptor with the air temp sensor plugged in, 3" piping and then pod sitting just before where the factory airbox would sit so it's not collecting hot air.

And no please dont lecture me on how panels are better than pods, i'm not chasing horsies at the moment lol just wanted it to sound better.

Autobarn have the adaptor so you can put your air temp sensor in it.

Then just get rubber joiner, more 3" pipe then pod.

the suction on a pod can be a bit annoying at idle/light throttle but i juse used 80mm pvc pipe straight from the TB > 85~ mm rubber joiner > MAF > 80mm pipe > pod. that worked well except i had to file down where the pod sits over the 80mm pipe prolly about 1-2mm all round but fits well

ok ive done extensive reearch on this one bought everything from autobarn and i can tell you now unless the pod is covered some way you will always get the induction noise. i put mine in a box using the bottom of the factory box and covered the pod with a heat shield and the noise was gone

Do you want the noise or don't want the noise? I'm not exactly sure what the original post is asking? If anything?

I don't mind the old 'gulp' noise that it takes when you give it a quick rev.

But the worst car I've heard so far for pod noise is my brothers supra, even on idle you can hear it sucking air in from about 20m away.

try dropping it in the bottom of the factory box and keep it uncovered. dont worry bout cops ive asked around the "police crowd" and everyones told me that it doesnt matter if the pods in a box or not its just an air filter replacement so its not illegal

Could be wrong but i thought if you have a pod it has to be inclosed, and there is really no point doing it because its sucking in hot air from your engine bay, unless its enclosed real good with a CAI over radiator or 100mm to front bar it will be better but if not its just a wank factor.

mines heatshielded and enclosed but it used to be just in the bottom of the box. ive been reassured by atleast half a dozen cops and the 3 highway patrol that pulled me up that its perfectly fine to have it out of a box even past random inspection on a cruise without it enclosed
