    Default Mid bcm

Hi, can anyone tell me the difference between a LOW BCM and a MID BCM?

I don't have electric windows, traction control, fog lights or any of those extras as i have a 98 VT Exec.

Just i was surprised to find a MID BCM in my car as apposed to a LOW which i had assumed. I am just wondering if it had been upgraded at some point and also if it means i can add some extras?

    Cheers, Daz.

I think wagons have a MID to allow for the rear windscreen wiper. The only other difference is that a MID has power window controls.

OK so i have the MID BCM and it includes the option for power windows, but that necessarily doesn't mean the car is ready to go with the power windows right, i.e. the wiring loom will still be the standard loom excluding the power windows? It is a 98 VT Wagon, i'm assuming it's a series 1? Given this i would need to change the wiring loom to a series II to upgrade to power windows, correct?

    Cheers, Daz.

First check to see if you have the connector for the main switch block under the centre console cover. You will need the door looms (series 1 are different to series 2, which are the same as a VX).

Can the SII or VX door looms be plugged straight into the main loom in place of the existing door looms? Or is the main loom/door looms all one piece? I dosn't look like i have the main switch loom in the center console.

Then you will need the loom for the centre console. The VT Series2 and VX door looms won't fit a Series 1 because how they plug into the body is completely different.
You will also need to see if where the fuse (circuit breaker) and relay for the power windows has wiring to it, that is, do they have the silver connectors in the slots.

Sorry for sounding stupid, so i read this as:

In a nutshell, even though i have a MID BCM the plugs on the body are going to be wrong as they are series 1 meaning i have to upgrade the main wiring loom, door looms, center console loom and the fuse box?

    Cheers, Daz.

    a) i can get door looms and replace the old door looms by plugging the new door looms into the body without replacing the main loom.

    OR

    b) the plugs on the body are going to be wrong as they are series 1 meaning i have to replace the main wiring loom then i can add the new door looms.

    If (a) is correct then,

    C) i will be able to get the center console loom and plug it into the main loom at some point.

    Cheers, Daz.
    a) Yes
    b) As long as you get series 1 door looms they will plug into the main loom at the body.
    c) Not sure but I'm assuming so or maybe it plugs into the BCM. Mine was already there when I did my windows so I don't really know
