Hi everyone. Im new here.
I am in middle east and i have the Chevy Lumina 2001 which is Holden Commodores in Australia.
1st problem is that that accelator padel is so hard not like other cars ( Toyota etc ) I have to push it hard and in the 1st gear it make some noise SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH something like this and normally at 2000 rpm or 1500 rpm it changes to 2nd gear to late but at 3000 rpm its does change fast.
2nd problem is that the stering is a bit hard than other cars i think its not hydrolic am i right?
and please tell me will this fit in this car instead of cassate player?
it is off 7 inch total.
I can't answer your first question but i can for the second, yes it will fit, i have a similar system in my Commodore, as long as you have the correct things to fit it in it will work fine. If it has GPS ask them to fit the GPS module under the dash, it will still work and have good signal, this is how I have mine set up.
I believe you need to have some form of mounting bracket and special wires that you can obtain cheaply off ebay.
edit: I needed this for mine: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VT-VX-HOLDEN-...1%7C240%3A1318
hey thanks I will search for that here in my country.
Anyway can anyone tell me about other things that i want to know
bump.. plzzz
The accelerator cable might be worn and sticking. Disconnect it from the throttle body and see if it moves freely while it is disconnected.
Your car has power steering so it should not be too hard to steer unless you have a problem.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
The noise probably coming from your air box(top lid must be loose, check for leaks),sticky throttle linkage could cause hard acceleration, also check for loose/broken linkage or sticky butterfly in the (dirty) throttlebody.
Gear changing is throttle dependent operation, get your t/body fixed up.
Steering system is hydrolic and speed sensing.Check your fluid level and oil leaks from the s/rack,pump and the hose.
It is a double din unit, yes will fit.
