    Default Faulty Climate control lights

    Hi all
this question was partialy answered in 2006.

The back lighting for nearly all the buttons on my climate control unit (vt berlina) is missing except for the ost(out side temp) and the mode button.

All the buttons still work as does the green lights to tell you what is switched on.
The temperature display lcd works as well.

But I cant tell whats going on at night. What setting it is on in the lcd display as there is no back light. I cant see the recirculate, front demister, rear demister buttons at all (even though the green lights work once puched).

    1. What is the problem.
    2. How do I fix the problem.
    3. Is there a "how to" for this problem

Back in 2006 all that was said is replace the bulbs. How! How do I get into the unit to replace them. Will this fix the back lighting on the lcd.

PS the dimmer for the dash is set all the way up. All other displays are fine at night.

You have to pull it apart to change the globes which are ridiculously expensive. The dash surrond needs to come off first to get the control panel out. Or you could replace the whole panel with a second hand one off ebay or wreckers.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

Buy dash surround do you mean the whole entire dash or just the plastics that surround the climate control / radio/ cd player.
Just how expensive are the globes. $10, $20, $100.

Sorry guys but the only thing u can do 2 the climate control with LEDs is replace the LCD screen only, the rest of the buttons ect... r made from a green plastic and can not b altered. The normal dial face heater control units r different.

How eva u can put in Green LEDs which ideally still would benifit u but being a forward directional light u may see some dark spots in certain areas so extra LEDs will b needed and u wont have the blue and red arrows light up their own colours either.

darren44 ur right only the dash surround that goes around the unit needs 2 come out along with the console surround, theres plenty of how to's here 2 do it. Then the unit itself as accentstencil said u need 2 unsrew it appart 2 get 2 the globes.

Globes from holden r around the $6-$12 mark tho u can go the cheaper option and just buy the bezels from jaycar or dick smith 4 a couple bucks and just re wire them in their existing globe holders.
