That's pretty much it but instead of the A/C panel you remove the instrument cluster, should be straight forward. I would disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid any problems, but you will need your radio PIN if you have the stock unit.

My radio doesnt even work i bought the car from the auction , it doesnt say it needs a pin but i just dont get any sound out of it at all. I cant really take the car to a electrical place cause its unregistered and it wont pass inspection unless the dash lights up....i mean i wouldnt be able to see it at night then.

So do i just immediately remove the dash with the screws up top and follow the instructions after that? iLL disconnect the whole battery just incase.

    id check the fuses first.
sounds like the cause since there are no dash lights at all (not just the cluster??)
if the globes are blown (which i seriously doubt ALL of them are - so it isnt the whole problem), you mught be in for a shock to learn that the globes for the main part of the cluster are $11 EACH and the globes along the base of the cluster are $17 EACH from Holden - and yes, theres a lot more than 1 globe as well.

Anyway, check the fuses and check the wiring as well, there may just be a wire or loom not plugged in.
    check from the battery back.

the oil lights show the power lights show everything shows except the actual red dash does not light up and the light up the top of the dash that normally would appear when you have turned the lights on does not.

    ah ok.
probably just a couple of globes.
a cheaper option is to head to the wreckers and get a povo-pack cluster for $20-$30.
that way you have some spare globes for later on as well.
