Unhappy oil residue in coolant vt s supercharged v6

Just regestered and looking for ideas!
For the last few months ive noticed an oily residue underneath my radiator cap. Im not very machanically minded but im thinking blown head gasket right? Thing is , i dont seem to be going through any coolant, theres no muddy discolouring of the oil filler cap or dipstick, the oil levels are not dropping, and the car seems to be running sweet and temperature gage dosent move over its normal running temperature.
I have noticed im loosing a bit of power steering fluid very slowley. could this be related or just a seperate leak.
Also there is a build up black muck around the oil filter, checked to see if it was tight with my hand and seems to be alright, although is still a concern, could this have any thing to do with it.Im gonna take it in to a machanic and get it looked at soon, i just want to get an idea of what the problem could be so i dont get taken for a ride and end up spending shit loads of money for things i dont need. Im preparing for a two grand problem but would put my mind at peace if i had some idea of whats up. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers!

It will be the LIM gaskets. Most L67s go through the same problem. The stock ones are made of plastic and become brittle after a few years. Replace them with the metal ones (Yella Terra sell them) and it will be all fixed

It shouldn't be a 2 grand problem. The gaskets are around $100, then maybe 2 or 3 hours to fit them, so you may be looking at $300-$400. Or you could replace them yourself, it's not really that hard if you are mechanically minded. That way you can spend the money you save on some mods

Hi I have a VT Supercharged Calais, and was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem i have. I would like to know if anyone knows how to clean the oil out of the water through the engine block and radiator.

I had the same problem. Was no water in my oil (trans or engine) but i was losing coolant and there was oil in the coolant.
Turned out to be the transmission cooler where it runs through the radiator. I chucked some transmission stopleak through the box and ive stopped the leak.

LIM gasket should be the thing you would be looking at. make sure u get a metal gasket and not a cork one. you can order the metal ones from yella terra
