Default VT Climate Control how to wanted

I have to change the bulbs in my climate control buttons.
I cant find a "How To"

Any one got some information on doing this.

Its 41 degrees here in Adelaide and I need to see what my climate control is doing at night.

    Thanks

    Take the dash facia off.

    unscrew the climate control.

pull it out and unplug it from behind.

unscrew the cercuit board from behind.

    change the globes.

I'm not sure on which globes they use but I can tell you that the sellers is reliable, I have purchased from him a couple of times before.

I thought you meant it was a digital climate control.

    To remove the globes..

    1. Undo two screws from the shifter trim. (you will need to remove the rubber insert) The screws are located either side of the cigerette lighter socket.
Then remove it by lifting from the oppisite end. (it will slide up and out)

    2. Undo the two screws holding the compartment in and remove the compartment. (just slides out)

    3. Undo the screws holding the dash facia in. (as shown in pic below)

    4. Pull the dash facia out carefully. You may need to yank it a little.
As it pulls out you will need to get your hand behind it enough to undo the wire plugs for the headlight switch, hazzard switch and mode buttons. (If need be you may need to remove your stereo if it is in the way of the facia)

    5. Undo the two screws holding the climate control in.

Pull it out enough to get in behind it and you should now be able to reach the globes.
You will need a very small streight edge screwdriver to unscrew the bezzels.

Not sure which power button your referring to.
But if your referring to the actual power button next to the gear shifter then its the same as the ones behind the climate control if yours is a series II. And yes they are small.
But in the series 1's the power button globe bezel is smaller than the climate control.

Best way to find out is to take it out

Your local auto shop should sell them.

If not, Your local chev dealer should be able to import them from Austrlia.

They are probebly imported from China to Australia then exported from here.

If you know which ones are blown you'll only need to replace the blown ones.

Though an auto shop wouldnt be much less price wise.

i removed the dash board and only two globes were working inside climate control. Well the mechanic changed it two months back and placed some toyotta globes and they got damaged in few weeks, i removed the climate control and changed the place of working globes and put the wires again when i turned on the lights, smoke came out from climate control and ILLUM. fuse damaged i replaced the fuse and turned on the lights and none of the globes were working in CLIMATE CONTROL... only two light work which works when ac is turned on and heater for rear window.

do you think the climate control got damaged or the just the globes? should i buy 5 globes and take my chances..?

what did you replace the blown globes with?
Im pretty sure theyve got to be 12v/1.2w
I dont think the climate control curcuit board would be damaged, I think the globes that you replaced them with were different and have burnt out.

Double check the voltage and wattage of the globes.

Yeah sounds like the board it self is stuffed.

If you can get on ebay you can buy a new or used one cheap (the whole climate control dials that is)
