VX Calais cant find the fuse box

I have read the manual as it is meant to be under the steering column but could not find any obvious handle or lever to open any cover? Can someone out there provided any pics or instructions were to look as i was a confused.

slide your hand in between the bottom of the steering colum and the lower panel and pull down, its hinged at the bottom and little clips at the top.

There is also another one on the drivers side under the bonnet
