    Default Lumina Radiator problem

i want to know why LUMINA 2001 gets too hot im in middle east and its winter season, before few weeks. it went hot and radiator water was mixed with oil gear as mechanic told me.

after he changed something it was expensive and he put coolant as well, but after 14 days radiator got empty again, and it got hot then i put water a day before yesterday but today morning i put water again but it was throwing out so i thought it is full. but after 20 mins drive car stopped and smoke began to come out from bonnet. I put 5 bottles of water and also it throwed water out because i think it was hot.

ive checked there is not leakage what could be the problem?

your mechanic should be able to work it out.

pressure test the system. that will tell you if you have any internal or external leaks. the plastic end tanks on the radiators are weak. head gaskets are ok pressure test will tell you.

make sure you have no air locks in the system

check the thermostat is staying open, or just fit a new one.

check no blockages in the radiator through the 2 little hose connections on the top of radiator

So the first time you had a trans cooler or similar let go? And now it's just ****ing out coolant and overheating?

take the engine cover off by un doing the 4 nuts then fill radiator run the car and when it gets hot and after the thermostat has opened, ie: when the top hose gets really hot , then bleed the system by un screwing the small bolt at the top of the thermo housing , when coolant comes out , tighten it up , take it for a short drive , if the coolant still comes out , change the thermostat

i figured it out what was the real problem. in the morning when i checked the radiator i did not close the radiator lid well thats why when i switched off the engine after 20 mins drive it throwed water out. So i tot it got hot because the temperatue needle was normal and that was not smoke from engine it was steam then i put the water again and also i didnt realize that i closed the lid well. after some time i went for a work I came back home i parked the car and again the steam and water came out from radiator and lid was opend again like before and then i realize that IT WAS ME who did not closed the lid well.

anyway thx... can any one tell me after how many days should I re fill the water in radiator

and one more thing How can i fix the pockets behind the driver seat it was broken by me when i tried to pull it hard

The clips that hold the seat pockets on broke when you pulled it. You can buy the clips to fix it, only a few dollars each here.
Edit: I see I'm too late once again.

Not really. The kits go for about $50 and should/will include the clips for putting the back onto the seat again.
