Question How to remove black strips on roof. VT-VX?

Does anyone know how or has removed the black strips on the top of the roof that runs from the front windscreen to the boot lid?

Im sure its cliped on one way or another... But are there screws from under the roof card that im missing?

Reason: I want to re-spray them properly.

    Thanks in advance
Any pics of them removed would be helpful.

lift the front windscreen rubber seal back where the black strip meets, grab hold of the black strip and pull/slide it towards the front of the car.

That's correct, I just renewed mine, took about 3 minutes to do. From the front windscreen to the rear of the roof, they are held on by plastic clips that just pull upwards. Down the rear screen you have to slide them off towards the front of the car.

what do you mean by renew the paint?
i didnt think they were painted.
are you making them more black or are you going to colour code them?

i wouldnt mind seeing a car with them colour coded.
if anyone has a pic i would be interested in seeing it.

They are only made in black. It was suggested to me to paint them before fitting to protect them from the sun, as mine had cracked and shrunk from sitting in the sun. I think they'd be a bit of a hassle to paint properly so the paint wouldn't peel.
