    Default changing from power windows to manual

    hi this might be a stupid question but im sick of all the trouble with my power windows my drivers side window is stuck up and ive been quoted $300 to fix it is it possible to convert it to the manual ( wind up ) type window and would this be cheaper? i live in Qld and im cookin stuck in this heap of s@#t

    yes, it may be just as easier to see if u can pick up 4 doors in gd condition with manual windows

    Did they say what was wrong with it when they quoted $300?

    You can convert manual to electric, so I don't see why you couldn't go the other way.

    I guess all you'd need is the manual regulators + handles and the door trims?

    they said the motor was stuffed and needed replacing. i have had troubles with all the windows in this car, im no longer a fan of power windows

    Do you know what they did to come to the conclusion it was the motor, because without taking the door trim off there is no sure way of telling. It might just be a faulty switch or broken wire in the door loom. I'd get a second opinion unless you know and trust the place you are using now.

    vt power windows suck, one of my windows broke when my girlfriend was winding it down and we went over a bump! gay! and now my drivers side window stops a bit before the top!
    sucks,
    my brother has manual windows in his vt and he said his were f***ing up too??

    Actually winders r far worst then elect. windows.When was the LAST time u service them ? Checking,cleaning and lubricating ? Out of sight out of mine,'till it breaks down .

    A second hand motor would have to cost less than a full set of manual regulators - and there would be less labour in fixing the one window than retrofitting all four - whether you do it yourself, or pay someone.
