Question Power Chips/Resistors of ebay- GOOD OR BAD???

    Hi guys,
Just a question ive heard a little about these chips/resistors on ebay that are going for bout $20. i think they stuff around with you temp sens or something to make your car run as if it were cold or somewhat to increase power. it is claimed that it is not bad for your car i have been told it is, and i believe it most likely is also. so i leave it to you guys, is it bad? has anyone had any experience with these chips/resistors.

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

A huge percentage (if not all) of the crap on egay being passed off as performance chips are garbage, i know this from having actually used a couple of these egay wonder chips, and most of them will only make your car use more fuel and dissapoint you. Dr. Bob and Greenfoam are the tune Guru's to see on here for Buick and ecotec's. An example would be my last commo, a vp, that i had put an egay chip in, no difference in accelleration, rough idle, and used more fuel with NO POWER GAIN. I then put a Greenfoam tune in it and OMG!!!!! Noticable increase in power and torque throughout the rev range, much better economy, never once hesitated to start, and give it a little deeper exhaust note too
In short, don't bother risking it with an egay chip, just buy one from either one of them blokes on here and you won't be dissapointed

The OP drives a Series 2 VT, which used a flash programmable memory not a memcal, so greenfoam cant tune it
