manual conversion - labor quote.. rip off or.. ??

hey

my mechanic i usually go to around the corner quoted me $1400-$1500 for a manual conversion

i have a written off vt s-pak 5spd manual.. and i want the manual put into my new vt exec.. so i have all the parts for the conversion.

he has to take all the parts off the s-pack and do the swap around onto the executive..

do you guys think this is a fair quote ?

ive heard of people getting conversions done for $3000 including all the parts.. ?
