Hotdog muffler or original?

I have a 5.7Lt VX and i had a 2.5 catback redback system and pacemaker 4 into 1. Now i cut the rear muffler off and it gave it a nice throaty V8 note on light acceleration and full noise, but now at 1500-2000 it drones really bad and when it's go people in it it vibrates the car it's so bad. I was thinking about just putting the redback muffler back on and i know the drone will go but so does everything else. Would putting hotdogs at the rear make a difference to the drone? I've seen a couple of the monaro hot dogs on ebay would they work or too big to fit side by side in the space at the back? Cheers

So the Pacemaker 4 into 1's and 2.5" Redback system didn't give it a throaty V8 note?

Yes and no. On light acceleration as in not light enough to have it hold gear and rev out to around 3K it would, but on hard acceleration it was more an induction noise than exhaust. Don't get me wrong it sounded nice but the exhaust i go now with no rear muffler gave a real nice crisp note.

same as mine ive got 4-1 pacies high flow cats and a manta twin 2.5 and i could mostly hear the engine when planting the foot.took the resonator out now sound heaps better very throaty
