Just wondering how easy it is to change the springs in a vt cause theres a difference with frotn and rear?
could i get some steps on how to and what tools?
thanks!
I didnt do a writeup when I changed mine,
I used two jacks (one trolley and one scissor)
cant remember the spanner sizes except for a 23mm for the front strut tops.
Fronts streigt forward... jack it up one side at a time taking the wheel off, undo the control arm rod, undo the disk from the strut, undo the strut top and it pulls out
do the same in reverse to install the new strut.
Rears are tricky... jack the car up and remove the wheel, unbolt the shock from the bottom, stick the scissor jack between the axel and the chassis and pry the axel down (this is very dangerous as it is spring loaded so be careful) then pull the spring over the noblets
hope this helps
also, on the drivers front you will need to unto the top caliper bolt to get to the bottom strut bolt
make sure the car is in neutral and handbrake off when doing the rear, otherwise the control arm wont come down far enough. u dont need a scissor jack, in fact i wouldn't recommend it as u may bend your sway bar links, to get the control arm to come down further undo the sway bar link (its 1 bolt either side.) and it will drop down enough to get your spring out.![]()
