I have a vx series 1 2001 commodore and was just wondering if pedders would be the better choice of springs?
Thanks
I would personally stick with "kings"![]()
I had pedders sports ryder springs in my VS V6 ute and when i first got them in they were very stiff and took a couple hundred k's to settle in, even after settling in they were very firm which i dont mind. i never had a problem with them.
i got kings in my vh, they are nice and stiff but even with ultra lows its no where near as low as i want it...i just put some pedders springs in the arse of the vt and wow its low but still drives really nice, can bearly even tell its been lowered as much as it is. i dunno the part number of the 1's i got but they are the lowest of the grey variety ?? i almost got lower ones but really glad i didnt lol. its just leagal hight now its 105mm and thats with a stripped boot and in park.
ive had pedders in my calais ther where nice, but now ive moved onto ultra ride
ive had king in my 6 and pedder in my 8, the king springs are harsh and not smooth at all. the pedders spring, or at least the touring, the 64xx series are bloody fantastic, rides like stock almost but sitting 100mm off the deck. cant get any better than that![]()
i had a vs caprice with king springs which was a more comfortable ride compared to my mates vs ute with pedders. probably not an ideal comparison, but i'd go kings over pedders.
Pedders springs have a lot more 'give' in them, and the ride doesn't seem as harsh. King springs are a lot more 'heavy duty' and do not lower the car prob as much as many people want.
having said that, my dad's VT had Pedders Low springs, and it sat fairly low, but chewed through tires with the camber issues. jus something else to think about, depends on how low you want to go, and what else you're lookin for, eg. ride comfort

The VZ is here! About time!
I think pedders are abit more user friendly than Kings. My car is about 90mm off the ground on pedders sports ryder and rarely hits the bump stops but always feels smooth over bumps.
Once you do springs and shocks though you will probably feel the need to do sways and bucjes as well. It makes all the difference

Pedders in my old vt and vy. Were excellent imo.
