my friends bought a vx series 2 commodore, the inside, outside and motor are like brand new.the carpet inside hasn't got a mark on it either.it is just like a brand new car all over, but it has over 200,000 on the clock.how is this possible?
looking after it not leaving it in carpark's not washing it at car washes and not letting kid's crawl over it
Eureka styles!
My dad had his VX S pack from brand new and when he sold it 3 years later it only had one stone chip on it. He just always parked 1 centimeter from the kerb in the furtherest away bay in shops to keep from doors being opened on it, drove it respectfully, didn't let my baby brothers eat or drink in it or stand/crawl on the upholstery.
Keeping a car clean and presentable is easy if you do it regularly. It's when you let crap build up that it's hard. Granted I bought my VX as a write-off and fixed it up, but it's immaculate inside and out now that I fixed the damage.
A good detail can bring a car back from the dead before a sale. Also minor crash damage that warrants a respray can rejuvinate the duco![]()
VYII Calais L67
its not hard. i used to work for detailers for like 400 bux they bought back a 200sx with key scratches looked like it'd been rallied engine bay clean up touch ups everything. i know its expensive but if you saw how much they did you'd understand. but yea like they sed a good detail will rejuvenate a car they cud of reupholstered it anything. or just took really really good care of it
On the look out for my new VT 98
See cars like that all the time some are 30 years old, they are babied all their life and are the best car to buy even with high k's because they are usually always serviced regulary
also I have seen cars with really low K's that are trashed and smelt like someone took a dump in them and you can bet its been thrashed and abushed
your friend did well
mines a november 97 model (first batch of vt's)
When i bought it, it was the biggest piece of crap you could find.
But with a bit of money and hard work been put into restoration it is almost immaculate!
maybe because the owner used it for what it was designed for .. just maybe he also took care of it and detailed it before he sold it like any person should do to get top dollar for it ......lol
wrecking VL COMMODORE 5 speed
FOR SALE : supra 5 speed box suite holden v8 $800
mate, look at my old vx acclaim thread, that thing had 260000ks on it and it still hardly had a mark on it, the interior didnt have a mark or stain in it, not hard to do just lots of cleaning and caretaking.
Park away from people, Use the misses car when going out, Don't let anyone in it, Garage it for life.

I heard of a bloke that had a VL Berlina Turbo. Mr sheen they called him, I think that's all he used to wash the car ?, Something weird like that. Anyway he traded it in for a VY Berlina. Low km's mint condition, This was at KD. The car didn't make the floor before someone bought it.. This was the type of guy that looked after his cars. But he did drive them. The kind of bloke you would buy 2nd hand from with confidence.
