Default will a vx r8 dash go into a vt v8 series one

hi there, the info i am chasing is i have a vx r8 gen 3 6sp dash cluster and am wondering if it will fit into a vt v8 series one auto ???

i have been researching it and have found so many varying answers its hard to work out whos right and wrong

from what i know it just needs to be done by a tech 2
and from other people saying the bcm needs to be changed and etc so im not sure what the deal is.

is it possible for me to drop it off at holdens and pick it done no problems
or is it gonna come back reading the wrong information

eg: the car has 211000kms on it
if i put the new cluster can they ajust the so say what kms it has done or do i haveto leave the kms the new one has 180,000kms

    cheers....................

My understanding is that it will go in no problems but will probably need to be configured to suit your car (Tech 2). Most people say the odometer can't be changed unless it has done less than 100kms but some people claim it can be done, I'm not sure. A far as swapping BCMs goes, that is only if the new cluster has the gear position indicator P R D 3 2 1 and you want that to work.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

I`d say and I`m no expert that it would be a little less of a hassle to do this mod to a gen 3 equiped vt than a 5 litre vt IMO.

if you are talking about just changing clusters, they you will need to at least change the BCM and a few other little things to get it too work.
