I have Lumina LS 2001. this is the second time I have this problem, i parked the car and after half and hour i came back and tried to open the car but it does to open with car remote and i even dont have door key. but after when i opened with spare key, and started with the key the one which was not working it worked fine. what could be the problem?
That made no sense at all...are you trying to say you could start your car with both keys, but you couldn't open the doors with the same keys except using the remote? Have you tried locking the doors with the keys?
a. I Parked the car and locked it with my car Remote.
b. I came back after 1 hour i tried opening the car with remote but the car did not respond and the was not unlocked.
c. i called my friend to bring spare key from my home.
d. he brought the key and i opened the car with spare key.
e. I started my car with the spare key.
f. I switched off and switched my car on again with the key that was not working.
g. i swtiched off again and removed the key closed the doors and pressed LOCK and the remote started working again.
Sounds like the battery in your car remote that is inside your key is near the end of its life. This is normal if you use the remote often. Try replacing the battery in your key. There are several centres including Holden itself who can help you there.
Yes it does destroy the key a little if you're not careful. The plastic case are glued together. You might as well go to a place that does car keys or Holden themselves. At least you'll get your key back looking like new.
There are previous posts that tells you how to do it if you're keen on doing it yourself. Have a search in the forums.![]()
