Is there a digital speedo in VX commodores

ei guys is there a digital speedo in a VX exec.

and if so how do i activate it?

hold down the MODE and right arrow buttons
Turn car to ACC
wait for a beep
release buttons
press MODE until you see dig speedo

Not on the single cluster window. You need the 3 window cluster, you can upgrade the cluster but you need to change BCM.

with single window you can get holden to program it in but you loose over speed chime i think................

yes u can just needs 2 b changed using a tech 2 doin so u'll loose ur speed alert tho as if u need it neways ahaha

I have a VT Berlina Series 1, just turn car off, hold down the MODE and right arrow buttons and turn the car on. scroll though and you will see the digital speedo on the left hand side. Very handy!

jsut hold the right arrow key and MODE and turn the car on..
on my 2000 series 2 VT i have about 8 - 10 different readings..
from battery volts, litres of petrol, digital revs and digital speedo..
and a few other things iv got no idea bout!!
any one no wat they are?

Get a Holden dealer or someone else with a TECH 2 to enable Police mode. It'll give you a permanent digital speedo, but IIRC you'll lose the Overspeed chime.

I know this thread is old but with Tech 2 can you pick and choose what each window will display? Eg can I get digital speedo in the middle window and then any other reading from the side windows?

nope, they digital stays where it normally is. whats wrong with the analouge one as they both get the same reading from the same signal

It's similar to engineering mode in the VE's.

It tells you things like - Fuel remainging in tank by litres
Part number of dash
Coolant Temperature
Speed
Tacho readout
Parkers On/Off




As for getting the digital readout set, you need to go in to Holden and get them to enable digital speedo. Dont go in there asking for "Police Mode" because even though it's called that you will wind up looking like a douche.

i did go into holden here in Townsville and asked the if they could turn the digital speedo on in my vx, the chick asked me twice what i ment then when out side and talked to 2 works "tech's" ( i could see them talking from where i was standing) and they where standing there laughting, when she came back in the room (with a smart ass smile on her face) and said "nar cant be done" and set down at her desk.

i was pissed off, a shamed and confused lol

Press Mode = Tachometer - e.g. 2380
Press Mode = Park Lamps Switch - e.g. P OFF
Press Mode = Dash Trouble Codes - e.g. t 00 (Press up/down to scroll through any codes, these are not PCM, ABS, etc codes)
Press Mode = Dash Test - All gauges will move, lights will come on and buzzer will sound.

I am on adelaide and i rang around to many holden dealers, Claridge holden, southgate holden, hamilton holden and all of them say its 26.50 for a police enable.

It Can be Done, got a local auto electrician, or a different local mechanic. they might have a tech II
