so... replaced all four corners with new pads, everything seems fine, bedded in ok, braking way better than expected
now day 3, driving forwards and braking is fine, but when you stop, then reverse and brake, there is a clunking noise when your foot first hits the pedal, then after that, it seems ok again
but the when you have done that, then drive forward and brake, same noise happens again, and it only ever does it once
the brakes seem %100 all other times, so only when you change from forward to reverse and brake and vice versa
so its like their being seated in the right spot for the direction your travelling, but that shouldnt really change if everytyhings in ok
ive taken the wheels off and checked to see if everythings tight, and i havent done something wrong, all seems good, but its still doing it
their kind of important so i dont want something to be majorly wrong
any ideas?
Is the clunk happening on all four calipers
sounds like the hand brake cable is too tight, either that you you didn't put the anti rattle springs in properly.
Did you do the caliper bolts up tightly? If not the clunk you're hearing is the pad being moved around inside the caliper
