1.)i just fitted on a pod onto my v6 exec (Vx) and as people claim the induction sounds really good, i agree it sounds good but in my car i can only hear it wn its in park lol ... so any ideas wat myt make it louder?
2.) i went to pitstop because i wanted to get a quote on a 'sports exhaust system' which i thot was a load of crap they expect me to pay 600buks which i personally think is a joke because i have heard you can get better sound for cheaper so how would i be able to do that.? and how much would it cost?
cheers guis. reply asap lolcant waet i luv holdens

umm, you cant really make a pod suck louder... well without a turbo :P, also, i just fitted a sports exhaust myself, it cost me $208... and i got about 3 quote from shops around $280 - $350 fitted. so if you know how to di it yourself its cheap as. otherwize, dont pay a cent over $350 for a quality sports exhaust (cat back)
you can make it sound louder by increasing the velocity of air passing through the pod entrance by using a smaller diameter pipe, but its useless really its just a restriction :P
Mate, throw the pod out and put back the stock one, all the pod is doin is sucking in hot air from around the engine bay.
At least the stock one was suckin cold/normal air from over the radiator.
The only way a pod is good is if you get some pipe and run it straight down so it suck air from under the car.
Just put back the normal air intake and buy a good K&N filter for the box. I think they cost 100bucks or so, but it better than a pod.
sxc_sound- where about you from? looking at getting one for myself..
i get the feeling this guys under 18

Pods are good in a DECENT front bar CAI set up, but just sitting in the engine bay (as already said) they are useless and do nothing for performance as all they do is suck in hot air.
Better off with an OTR CAI with a panel filter. Pod's and sucking noise is just wank factor unless that's all you want.
mines modified to sit insde the original airbox with the lid sealed and the air coming from over the radiator. The sensor is modified also. It sits inside the pipe.
My only restriction is the size of the pipe over the radiator.
Cant hear my pod though.... anyone would think its standard.
ive got a pod in a heat proof sealed enclosure that sucks cold air behind the light it cost me a arm n leg having to order it from down south, b4 i got it i had the OTR with a K&N panel filter, once i put the pod enclosure on noticed way better preformance then the panel, i wud never just have a pod without an enclosure either so if u do either get it enclosed or get a panel man
You would have noticed your throttle would have been a bit tighter, they do sweet f/a for "performance", you just get slightly tighter throttle. Not a "performance" mod so to speak.
You got some sort of CAI getting cold air into your sealed enclosure?
either way... he has a stock vx with a pod and wants it loud as he can get it.... i dont think performance is a issue in this case. keep the pod lol

I do...
The only real difference i find is better idle and slightly better throttle response.
Biggest dowside was fuel economy without the sealed air box.
The louder it is the worse the fuel economy is lol
Since I chucked it in the standard box my fuel economy is normalish
If you want noise, go buy some PVC pipe from Bunnings or wherever with the twin 90MM ends on it, put 2 pods on it and it might give you some extra noise.
I don't know much about making more induction noise, i never really got into that whole thing. I had a pod set up on my old VP, but i did a proper one that looked bog stock from the engine bay. Left the factory airbox in, took a fresh 90mm holesaw, cut through the bottom of the airbox and through the steel into the wheel arch (tyre removed of course just in case), took some 90mm PVC piping, slid it into the hole with an angle piece on it so the pod cleared the tyre, used plumbers waterproof silicone to seal everything up, bracketed and bolted the PVC pipe into place so it didn't move, added a second small piece of 90mm PVC pipe to the angled section so it pointed directy at one of the factory left and right side holes in my VP Senator front bar, and Sikaflexed a K&N pod onto the end.
The reason for the extra piece of PVC pipe slotted into the end of the angled piece, was so i could pull the pipe out and wash and oil up the pod filter as they do need weekly cleaning when in a front bar set up.
Worked bloody well. Didn't cost much either. I'll try and dig up some photos.
its only getting cold air from behind the head lights atm but im thinking of putting my OTR back on and attaching piping to the end and running it directly into the enclosure
oh and my pod on a cold start you can hear it in the car loud with windows up lol when warms up bit quiter but still can hear it sucking air in a fair bit
lol working at the wreckers a vs came in with the twin pod pvc mod. **** ive never laughed so hard

lol i reakon it would look gay having 2 and i cant remeber where i heard it, but dont you lose power from having 2?
u lose power having 1 lol

i didnt lol mines quicker then it was b4
Hahahaha, just because i suggested it, doesn't mean i like it hahaha. I would laugh too. But this guy seems to just want noise, so i guess you gotta do what you gotta do hahaha.
Man it would look gay though. If you have the cash, bolt a blower on, then you will get some nice noise![]()
lol the 0.3 kg weight reduction gives sick acceleration broo.....remove the washer bottle and air con compressor and it will do wheel stands !!!!! :O
cover what if we modify a hair drier... rig it up to the induction pipe and hang twin pods off ... SICKKKKKKKKK
