Hello everyone,
1) Recently pulled part of the engine apart and put it back together again and i've got a washer and 90 degree piece of metal left over. Attached is the image of the part. Anyone know what it is and where it goes?? It's off a vx v6 ecotec engine with A/C. Car runs fine without it so i am assuming it's not overly important.

2) On an unrelated matter my car appears to lack power when giving it. Occurs infrequently when i accelerate moderately harshly car goes then pauses as it loses power then it starts going again. Only lasts for less then a second but is very noticable, no it isn't a gear change. Any ideas what could be causing this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.
Looks like a bracket that would have held pipes or wiring in place and since there's no bolt you'd have to assume it fits under a bolt or stud that holds something else in place. The Gen. 3s have a similar looking bracket holding a wiring loom to the end of r/h head.
Troubleshooting problems during acceleration are a pain, especially if their intermittent. The fastest way would be to plug in a laptop and monitor while you drive (not recommended), or putting it on a dyno and hoping the problem shows itself. Good luck!
I have a VT V6 and I can't recall that part, it doesn't look familiar.
As far as the lack of power this sounds like an ignition or fuel issue. So check your spark plugs, leads, coil packs. And also check fuel filter. Another thing to do would be to clean the MAF, throttle body and inside the plenum, but seeing as you had your engine apart you may have done this already. Make sure the vacuum hoses on the throttle body and plenum are back on properly as these will cause stuttering and power problems if even cracked open in the slightest.
souns like you have a coil dropping out. get a new coil and randomly fit it until problem goes away. new plugs and leads wont hurt
