vt variants please help !!

hey there
am more than likly buying what im pretty sure is a vt ss 195kw motor was just abit woried about the variant on the rego papers saying that its a executive not saying ss (its a bloody good mock up if it is) and is there any way of telling buy the engine number wether it really is a 195kw motor it has the sticker on the boot on the left

I would think that this information could be told by the build plate.

SS's are based on the exec, so this is plausible, but you can check the VIN with Holden. I did see a table of what the VIN codes mean, but wouldn't know where to look now.

If it's the 'HSV Enhanced' 195kw, a call to HSV with the VIN should tell you whether it is or not.

IIRC, the VT Exec was the last model to offer a V8 powertrain in the Executive spec (until the SV8 came in with the VY, which was essentially the same thing), so that's probably what it is, the previous owner may have just stuck a 195 badge on.

Call Holden with the VIN and engine number and I reckon they'll solve the mystery for you.
