My VT V6 was making a hissing noise for past 1 week when accelerating under medium load, (would go away) with high acceleration.
Worked out today (thanks to forum) that it was purge house going from under throttle body back to some black connector. It had come lose from that and was just sitting facing the firewall (where I could hear the leak coming from)
Well today I plugged it back in, (fricken gave me the shits hardcore trying to squeeze it on)
And the hissing is gone, took it for a quick lap around the local streets and it was stalling when i'd come to the intersections (would slow down, take foot off accelerator and foot on brake) and the steering wheel would just lock up (scared the shit out of me at first because i was probably doing 60k and just begun the turn.)
Could this be because the car is retuning itself? Or likely somethin else?
Thanks buds
Are you sure when you put the hose back on, it didnt come loose at the other end on the throttle body? When our VT had this problem, i put hose clamps on either end to stop it coming off again.
Disconnecting the battery and resetting the PCM wouldnt hurt
I rang a holden mechanic, and he said because it had been off, there would be carbon build up, to clean the throttle body, and to reset _something_ with the fuses???
Booked it in for a service tomorrow, just squirted it around for a good 20 minutes, and she seemed to be running sweet as now.
Wierd, just needed time to adjust I guess.
