Hey guys,
A few things thats been buggin me for awhile.
First is the battery light. It used to just come on when id accelerate hard and go off when i eased back or stopped giving it the boot. Last week it was on almost all the time i touched the accelerator, so i took the terminal off teh battery and moved it around abit. Seemed fine after that and never came on, untill today. I was driving in a shopping center, and it just came on, all the time, and wont go off, no matter whether im stopped at lights, accelerating or anything. It just stays on constantly.
Its got me pretty frustrated and i just want to fix it for good. so any ideas on how to fix it would be much appreciated.
Second is the oil pressure light. It keeps coming on when the engine has been driving for about 20 min or when its warm. Its only when im stopped the car and as soon as i touch the accelerator pedal- any amount the light goes off and is fine untill i stop again. the oil levels are fine and i just changed the oil. I guess next step is to change the pressure switch?
Any help would be much appreciated cause im gunna go nuts and rip out all my hair from this car lol. Thanks guys...
Matt
Since the battery light went off after removing the terminal and replacing it, I would think that giving the terminals a good clean with a wire brush might fix it.
I would replace the oil pressure switch.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
1. Battery light does not mean your battery is stuffed. It means theres a problem with your alternator. Get that looked at.
2. Yes go change the oil pressure switch.
thanks heaps guy. Yeh i took the engine cover off and moved the + wire at the back of the alternator. Jiggled the wires connecting to the battery and the lights gone off. I might go to jay car and get some of the same thickness wire and replace it.
As for the oil pressure switch when u remove it does any oil come out?
is it best to do it while changing the oil/filter?
