I have an oil leak, and its dripping from the joint between bellhousing and engine. The sump has been weeping aswell, but not bad. Is it a big job to change the seal? Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers

its a full day job, do the rear main first then the sump gasket
pain in the ass job thats what it is , its an easy job but one you will hate
Yeah I figured a pain in the ass! Do I do the sump gasket while the gearbox is out? Will it drop down far enough?
dunno mate i have always done stuff like that with the motor out
do the rear main with the box out, put the box back in and do the sump gasket by dropping the k frame down a bit and supporting the motor from the top
Ok cool I have seen the rear main and plate for $120 on ebay, is this a good price?
better off just buying a real main and sump gasket mate
Will putting the front wheels up on ramps be high enough to get the box out? Also how far does the K frame have to be dropped to get the sump out, and can this be done on the ramps aswell or on stands?
Try some HM oil like Shell helix Plus High Mileage or Maxlife from Valvoline. Even try some Auto-RX additive. Seals leak for 2 reasons, they are dirty-shrunken from poor oil and changes, or they are damaged. THe oils and additives can cure it from the 1st one, cleaning around the seal so it seats properly, and also using seal swellers to bring them back to original. It its the second one, damaged, it must be replaced, you just never know, but cheaper and easier to use a oil to see if it stops it. If you use the oil and additive, and it starts to leak a lil more, you definately know it was cause the seal was dirty, it will eventually stop or slow.
