i keep hearing them and as an inexperienced car enthusiast i was just wondering about the price for a vt s2 berlina and what type of power it would be putting down, is it worth it if im only going to chip it, put on an exhaust and run a cai? any help would be greatly appreciated
    cheers

are you talking about lower diff gears for your berlina? doesnt say clearly..
if so your not going to gain any power from diff gears. changing your diff gear ratio will only affect on your acceleration. a higher ratios will get you going quicker but will also reduce your fuel econmy and vice versa...

    ^^^ Not entirely correct...

3.73 diff gears improved my fuel economy around town but decreased on highways...

Would it be worth it? Depends what your after really...

In terms of price... gears and lsd would be somewhere around 1500... I got a GTO diff for 1000 with 30,000km on it...

As vt s said... diff gears doesn't affect power output...

The exhaust, cai and chip (as long as by chip you don't mean an ebay chip) is where you will get extra power...

    Hope this helps abit...

yea sorry jest fogot to mention different circum stances as i myself drive on highways 5days a week.
Is it worth it? like jest says depends on your circumstances, and IMO if your only planning to chip your vt ad make no other mods, i wouldnt really waste my money on it. and also there are many things that can go wrong when fitting either used or recond diff, gears etc, you can never be sure its gona be reliable and what not.
Its up to you but i myself wouldnt wate my money on it.

why would i be wasting money on a chip?
i was wanting to do an exhaust, throttle body, cam, then chip it? wouldnt i get a few hps out of that?
im just trying to figure out how to get more power and not go to overboard, was thinking about a 5lt ss soon anyway but im not sure if the5lt has poblems or how much work id need to do if it was to break down?

If your thinking 5L in the near future... bugger doing stuff to a v6... just wait till you get the 5L... same about of money into the 5L and much happier results!
