Default Vz Alloytec Into VT Commodore

    Hi Guys,

Just a quick question, I have been floating with the idea of putting a VZ Alloytec engine in my VT, Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the conversion. Or how hard it would be?

I have searched the topic, Not much information received and the threads were sometime ago so hoping newer Intel is available.

I don’t want this thread turning into a “why would you want to do it”, “why not add a supercharger” etc, Please keep focus.

The car is a v6 manual, If any other information is required to get help, Please ask. Otherwise thank you in advance for any information.

    Cheers,
    Super6

Since the VZ is based on the VT, it should be fairly easy...but for a start, you'll need the engine itself, an Alloytec ECU, wiring loom, and k-frame.

    Thanks for the information mate.

Its not an urgent job, so I will keep my eye out for some good deals.

I just want to make sure its not to hard of a job, Or I wouldn’t bother pondering the thought.

    Cheers

Not that easy and one of the main problems is the vz has fly by wire not a throttle cable so the wiring itself is a fairly big job. I am thinking of the conversion myself in the future but I plan on buying a written off vz so everything that I need is there and also as a reference how it's all hooked up.

I was thinking that, However im not to sure on much about it.

Wasn’t it the first hydraulic accelerator lines for Holden on something along those lines?

Once again not to sure, But would there be any way of putting a throttle cable on? I don’t like the feel of the VZ’s accelerator.
